The fire weed blooms from winter to spring before the heat of summer hits us. The mass of yellow daisy flowers in winter is a welcome sight for our hungry native bees. Especially the cute little sugar bag bees, who love to feast on the bright yellow flowers and collect nectar for their hive.
This actual plant was one that I pulled from the ground on our farm and painted it in watercolour, roots and all. I love the way the little yellow flowers bunch together and the leaves are intertwined. This artwork was designed to celebrate some of our beautiful weeds. Perfect for any wall in your home or your child rooms. Beautiful, vibrant and educational.
I hope this print reminds you of the beauty of nature and how it can provide life giving flowers on an otherwise cold and dreary winter's day.
